Are you available?

I don't mean physically. I mean emotionally.

As leaders of teams our attention is in constant demand.

And often you might be physically available to a direct report or colleague, but if you are not emotionally available, it will matter less. They will feel the distance.

Being emotionally available also means being open and vulnerable, and can thus be scary.

But fret not, no one is out to get you and they certainly will not think less of you.

They will find you human. And they might even love you for it.
