What hosts say
“One of the most honest discussions I've had on the show in a long time.”
Joe Dalton, host of the award-winning podcast Getting It Wrong to Get It Right
joedalton.ie“Peter talks about burnout the way someone who lived it does, not the way a coach who read about it does. One of the more honest conversations we've had on the show. And he's just a warm, personable guy.”
Konstanty Sliwowski, host of School of Hiring
schoolofhiring.com“It felt more like a chat with an old friend than an interview, and I can't tell you how much I and our listeners appreciated that.”
Mike Sirius, host of Mastering Tech Growth
mikesirius.com“Thanks again for the interview, it was really inspiring, and you provided so much value.”
Katie Stoddart, host of The Focus Bee Show
katiestoddart.comThe short intro, ready to read aloud
Peter Sorgenfrei is a founder and CEO coach based in Copenhagen. He built six companies over 15 years, collapsed with burnout in February 2020, and rebuilt from there. Today he coaches founders, CEOs, and corporate leaders across 13 countries. His first book, The Whole Human Leader, is published by Wiley, August 2026.
The longer version
Peter was the youngest manager in Toyota's history, moved to UBS at 30, and ran a New York consulting firm from 2005 to 2011 with United Airlines and American Express among its clients. Then he built six companies over 15 years across three continents, the last one Europe's largest operator of autonomous vehicles, with 70 people across five countries.
2019 was the year he stopped listening to his body: two planes a week, millions raised, no brakes. In February 2020 the body stopped for him. Six weeks lying down, twelve weeks out of commission, and a board that let him go while he was still in bed. He rebuilt from there.
The coaching practice started in 2020 with roughly 40 cold LinkedIn messages. About 30 people replied, and seven became clients over the following year. Today the count is 67 clients across 13 countries, with leaders from Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Shell, Heineken, Capital One, Nestlé, and Hyundai alongside founder-CEOs of scaling companies. His first book, The Whole Human Leader: How to Lead Without Losing Yourself, is published by Wiley, August 2026.
