Having given a ton of pitches, these three rules has worked for me

I've given a ton of pitches. A lot of them early on were dreadful to watch and listen to, I am sure. But, I got better at it after I started following a few simple rules:

1. Max 10 slides (yes, no matter how much I have to communicate)

2. Max 20 minutes (any other time I want to spend answering questions)

3. Min 30 points (and as little text as possible)

I've used these rules for presentations to make a sale, create partnerships, and raise capital.
