AI can be the wall for your ideas.

I was recently asked about the role AI can play for generating ideas for entrepreneurs. Is it possible that AI can come up with the idea for the next great company?

Yes and no.

In my experience, AI is best used like the wall I used to spend hours bouncing a ball against when I was a kid.

Someone watching from the outside might think that throwing a ball against a wall continually is mundane and boring.

Quite the opposite, actually.

Each time you bounce the ball, it comes back at you in a slightly different way - the angle and the speed differ from throw to throw.

AI is the same way. I use it to sharpen my pitch, arguments and communications.

I don’t ask it to generate ideas for me from scratch, but I take thoughts I already have and put them in the AI engine to see what happens.

The results can often be fascinating! And even when they’re not, I still learn something from what comes out.

Ultimately, AI isn’t a wall that blocks you, but rather one that helps you grow.
